The welcome Whygon
Welcome Whygon
I’m starting this space to answer a simple question: Why am I writing? Because stories matter. Because family matters. Because, as a transgender parent, I want to record the small, ordinary moments and the bigger, complicated ones so they’re not lost.
This is where I’ll share reflections, milestones, mistakes, and the quiet work of parenting while navigating transition. Expect honest, everyday accounts — from bedtime routines and school meetings to the emotional labor of changing names and pronouns, and the practical things that help our household run. I’ll write about joy and grief, policy and paperwork, the unexpected warmth of community, and the tough conversations that shape a child’s understanding of identity.
“Whygon” is both question and invitation: why go on? why tell this? why now? I’m writing because memory preserves what systems often erase. I’m writing because my child deserves to see our history documented. I’m writing so other transgender parents, allies, and anyone curious can find a candid, lived perspective.
No manifesto—just steady entries: fragments of life, lessons learned, resources that helped, and the small ways we build belonging. If you’re here to listen, to learn, or to remember with us, welcome.
