The Art of becoming

ABOUT: The Art of Becoming: LGBTQIA+ Journeys and Recovery is a celebration of getting through it.

Performers are encouraged to share art of all shapes: visual, poetry, stories, in order to express their experience through recovery defined as substance use and addiction, mental health challenges, navigating oppressive systems, etc. Consider your map of becoming who you are now and how your journey has been shaped through the tangles and twists of the themes listed above.

How you deliver your words is up to you! The purpose of this form is to gather inquiries from a diverse array of voices in order to curate a show that is inclusive and representative of as many experiences as we can find. You are not expected to memorize your piece, but it should be true and from YOU.

If you are interested in being a featured performer, please fill out this form and we will get back to you.

**If you know of someone who might be interested, please share this form with them!

Guided by the belief that healing is relational, their dance class “Dance Magic” is a joy-centered movement experience that helps people reconnect with their minds, bodies, spirits and shadows. It cultivates a space of belonging - both internal and external — where participants can explore a sense of infinite possibility. Rooted in play, consent and accessbility, Dance Magic welcomes all identities, bodies, and abilities. Move freely — no dance experience required.
